On Saturday, February 23, high school girls had an opportunity to attend “Saturday with Sisters” in our convent in Columbus. The very first of such meetings in our newly renovated home. The day began with morning prayer in the Liturgy of the Hours, followed by the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, which was celebrated by Fr. Stephen Alcott, O.P. from St. Patrick Church.
After partaking of the Eucharist, our spiritual food, we then enjoyed breakfast to nourish our bodies as well. Following breakfast, Fr. Stephen gave a lovely conference about Our Lady who remains a perfect model for us. We learned that after the title of Mother, she is also our Guardian, Help of Christians, Comforter, and more. We rediscovered in Mary, the one who loves, who teaches us how to love, and who guides us to Love Himself.
After the conference, we were privileged with adoring Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament during Exposition. We prayed the holy Rosary, contemplated in the silence, and opened our hearts to Him who is Love. Strengthened by Christ’s Presence, thereafter, we hurried off to recreation! Let the fun and games begin! We played ping-pong, enjoyed each other’s company and relished each other’s joy and laughter! Finally, we concluded with lunch and decided a future date for our very next meeting in March.
Thanks be to God for this beautiful day.
