The long-expected day of the central celebrations of our 150th Jubilee Year finally came. On May 19, 2012, Sisters of our Congregation gathered in the Sanctuary of the Divine Mercy in Łagiewniki, Cracow, in Poland.
The blue sky over the Sanctuary directed the eyes of the soul towards the One who has generously given to us from the treasury of His infinite Mercy.
Many of the Sisters of the Congregation, and also the Sisters of other Communities and Priests, those cooperating with us, parents, friends, and alumni attended at the Eucharistic Celebration at the Basilica. All of us: Sisters, invited guests, and pilgrims who came to Łagiewniki to thank God for the Beatification of Blessed John Paul II — as Mother General noted in her welcome — gathered here for the love of the Merciful Christ.
His Eminence Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz, who presided at the Mass, in his homily presented to everyone the person and work of our foundress, the Venerable Servant of God Mother Columba, underlining her confidence in God. We Sisters also appreciated the presence of other bishops: Most Rev. Wojciech Polak, Secretary of the Polish Episcopate, Most Rev. Kazimierz Wielikosielec of Belarus and Most Rev. Jan Zając, the custodian of the Sanctuary of Łagiewniki.
During the Mass, we specifically thanked God who in his mercy has preserved our Congregation for the good of his Church, granted us the gift of the beatification of Mother Foundress, accepted thanksgiving for graces received for over 150 years, and for granting atonement for what offended his love.
